GCACH Releases $850,000 to Partners Through the Behavioral Health Internship and Training Fund

In 2019, the GCACH Workforce Committee developed a policy to provide resources to our Behavioral Health (BH) organizations to offset the costs of programs offering clinical experience and preceptors who would supervise interns pursuing a clinical career in behavioral health. GCACH received 22 responses through its application process, with requested funding totaling nearly $1.7 million. 

Through a rigorous scoring process, GCACH funded the following 19 organizations, with allocated funding totaling $850,000:

  • Blue Mountain Counseling

  • Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Yakima

  • Community Health of Central Washington

  • Comprehensive Healthcare

  • First Step Community Counseling Services

  • Lourdes Counseling Center

  • Lutheran Community Services

  • Merit

  • Palouse River Counseling

  • Rod's House

  • Serenity Point Counseling Services

  • Somerset Counseling Center

  • Sundown M Ranch

  • The Health Center

  • Trilogy Recovery Community 

  • Triumph Treatment Services

  • Yakima Neighborhood Health

  • Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic

Now, more than ever, BH professionals are essential to serving the well-being of individuals and families amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. According to Forbes, half of Americans are suffering from mental health issues during the pandemic.
