GCACH Holds Second Annual Board Retreat

The GCACH Board of Directors and staff met on August 20, 2020 for a mini “retreat” to discuss the future state of GCACH. This was the second annual retreat to discuss the vision for the organization and to think about where GCACH’s core competencies align with opportunity.
The definition of opportunity, as explained by our resident expert in opportunity thinking, Chelsea Chapman, is when company values, conditions and provider needs come together.
Building off our retreat from 2019, GCACH took a year to:
  • Conduct marketing research
  • Identify core strengths and establish company values
  • Assess the organization on its emotional intelligence
  • Held a staff retreat with Tenfold Health to test opportunity thinking
  • Conducted a one-on-one vision and sustainability discussion with HCA
Collectively, the nine ACHs developed white papers on their visions for community based care coordination, community information exchange, and are co-developing a social investment model concept between the ACHs and HCA. 
The Board offered ideas for potential opportunities for the three suggested core competencies:
  • Consultant for Primary Care Systems
  • Connector for Local, Regional, and State Entities
  • Champion for Health Equity and Social Determinants of Health 
They also approved taking the next steps to develop a business and financial plan for 2021 and beyond.
